Anyone else miss old school digital art? From Pop-Surrealism to Abstract Renders remixed in photoshop. It all felt so indie and fresh and I don't know why it went away. I think most the pioneers of this left their style to find new wings which I totally understand but like it was always so influential, and prevalent, and distinctive. Like, a lot of these people were elitist as hell but the artwork and style was always a joy to follow. Now, it is -extremely- rare to see people mess around with it. Like its become obsolete or something. I don't get why. I come back to it now years and years later, and it still impresses me to such a degree it gives me ideas and inspiration. It felt like such a more creative era for my kind of digital abstract art kinfolk. and I don't think it's a matter of my bias romanticising the past, because it's true I feel nostalgia but the designs and styles and executions themselves were still very much unique.

That old school, I miss that shit. And I don't think i'm the only one who does either. So,  I'm going to upload another feature journal exclusively made up of the kinds of works i'm talking about.

I hope everyone has been doing real well. I don't visit as often as I should. But I feel like the audience for this site has changed, and Behance has taken its place. But Behance, being a portfolio - its so strictly impersonal because of its format. DA Was a lot better at having the capacity to socialise. Like, to make posts and journals like these.  I wish Behance had those kinds of features that could connect artists. That's another site I need to start actively using to gain the exposure I desire. I only share the bulk of my work on instagram & facebook which isn't really doing anything for me, sadly. Anyway I've went offtrack from what I wanted to talk about enough.

Keep living your life, and creating what you want to. This is how to stay happy.

Here's a showing of some absolutely breathtaking works. I included some of the usual suspects here, people who I've featured in the past. I can't help it, their work is too irresistible to not go out and share with the world.

There are so many facets to these individual works. Some share elements of fantasy, mystery, ingenuity, passion, some are downright strange but in the most mesmerizing way. I just feel like each of these have struck a chord that's resonated through my mind to create a symphony of imagination and wonder, and the reason I love art is for the astonishment, emotional response, and creative impulses it can elicit. Especially when you're going through a dry spell of creative paralysis, unable to produce any new works, and you see something that just sets off a spark inside you and suddenly it's night time from something you've been working on all day. It's truly what I live for, and I hope you're able to find something here that gives you that feeling too. So enjoy! :)

stock rant

Why are HD Male Model stock images so hard to find!? x_x

It's always the same. A clear shot of the model is obstructed, or the pose is too awkward, or they're nude, or body-builders, or far too young, or the image is too erotic in nature, or the quality is just below average. These are just some of the most reoccurring issues that proves to be really detrimental to stock versatile enough for photo-manipulations. And like, I just wish more males were interested in exploring posing for photography for more artistic reasons opposed to just vanity. www.istockphoto.com/ Has a lot of variety, but I can't afford to shell out 35$ for each time I want to practice editing compositions that I don't even plan to show off or include in my portfolio. I just think there's so much potential for male models in this category that for some reason, hasn't really taken off. I don't know, maybe I'm asking for too much. But I don't exclusively choose women as the subject in my mixed media artworks purposefully, it's just there's a thousand times over the amount of stock to choose from with so much more of a range in expression and posing.

So yeah feel free to ignore lol. That's just my little pointless rant of the day :3

Anyway, ART Feature #6 is on the way, as well as some new personal projects I'm excited to share with you all.

every day I have a reduced amount of feedback messages. I know a message is when removed when someone unfollows you or unfav's your work, but I really don't want to think people have done that 20 times in the past week lol.
